ChatterBug Language Programme

Overview

ChatterBug Language programme has been delivered in schools for over a decade with fantastic results. This six week targeted intervention programme has been developed by specialist Speech and Language Therapists to support children in developing their language and communication skills. 
This set of comprehensive intervention programmes provides activities including step-ups and step-downs for a wide range of children.  Designed to be taught in small groups, this fun programme uses singing, storytelling and familiar activities.

Each session draws on four activities that cover the key components of language:
  • Listening and Attention,

  • Vocabulary,

  • Sentence Building and,

  • Narrative Skills.


This course is for practitioners wanting to set up the ChatterBug Language programme in their own setting. This group is designed for children in Reception/Key Stage 1 with an identified Speech and Language Difficulty including attention and listening, comprehension difficulties, and expressive language difficulties (including sentence structure and vocabulary).
Resources to deliver the sessions are included in the programme.  Tools to monitor progress are also provided.

  • Learn how to deliver the ChatterBug Language programme and to set up effective groups at your setting
