ChatterBug is a social enterprise dedicated to helping children develop their communication skills. We continuously seek ways in which we can make a difference to the lives of those with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
Communication is central to all that we do and those who struggle with poor communication skills at a young age are at risk of underachieving and experiencing poor mental health/well-being.
ChatterBug was established in 2008 after recognising the lack of awareness around speech and language therapy and the gaps in the available local provisions. It is part of our mission to support all people who may not have access to as many opportunities due to communication difficulties, or who have been insufficiently supported through the currently available channels across the nation. We aim to always improve our service delivery so our clients receive the best input possible regardless of their social/financial status.
It is through our dynamic and innovative approach to communication difficulties that we help a range of people, who include children, young adults, parents, schools, and adults with SLCN. We are made up of a passionate team of speech and language therapists who specialise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of paediatric language and communication difficulties and it is their flexible and bespoke approach to treatments that achieves real results for our clients.
Our mission is also to ensure that individuals with communication difficulties have the right support and guidance they need to thrive and reach their full potential. We are confident that the high-quality services we have developed are suitable for a range of individuals, and includes additional support for parents, teachers, teaching assistants, and group leaders.
At ChatterBug, we are registered members of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practise (ASLTIP), Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Our speech and language therapists are experts in the field and have helped to develop a wide range of in-house programmes, both interventions and training courses, for our clients. It is these skills, knowledge, and expertise that helps us to tailor our therapy around the needs of individual clients. All of our sessions are completely bespoke and evidence-based, allowing us to deliver efficient and effective services that achieve real results.
ChatterBug also has a wealth of experience working with schools. We work with teachers to support pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties through our in-house training courses and speech and language services. We have a firm understanding of school environments, curriculum, and OFSTED requirements and can therefore adapt our services to specific educational goals, whilst improving the learning opportunities for all pupils.
